Come cuddle with me

Original von:
Deoss Ramath

They hear me coming,
those in cages, in this row.
They jump around and bark,
all to get my attention.

I look them over, wishing,
I could take them all home.
But finally, I point to one
and the cage is opened.

Come cuddle with me,
snuggle into my arms
and sigh to me alone.

Driving home, it breathes freely,
the wind in it face and smiles.
Freedom, from death and the
cold hard ground.

Arriving, it acts so happy,
that its heart beats madly.
The joy of life fills it
and time is now its only enemy.

Come cuddle with me,
snuggle into my arms
and sigh to me alone.

The place it comes,
so new that for days,
it is an adventure.
Time now passes and
it becomes aware.

Here with me,
it will spend its days.
To me it looks for,
all I can give.
Happy for now.

Come cuddle with me,
snuggle into my arms
and sigh to me alone.

The nights, days and months pass,
spent with each other and alone.
The times together, all too brief,
but there is more to come.

Toil on the years,
slipping by slowly and fast.
The fading of youth and
adulthood. Old age comes
creeping, carefully, slowly.
Time now seperates us.

Come cuddle with me,
snuggle into my arms
and sigh to me alone.

The final night, the tears of parting,
the final breath, quiver and shudder.
The heavy beat of a single heart,
no longer joined to another.

More time will pass,
again we'll meet and
experience again what we did.
Together.

Come cuddle with me,
snuggle into my ars
and sigh to me alone.
